The Battlefords AA Barons midget team is on top of the Centre Four Hockey League standings.
The Barons record is now 8-2-1, in first place in the league with 17 points, two ahead of North East.
Last weekend's action started with a road trip to Meadow Lake where the Barons took on the Stampeders.
The game ended in a 6-6 tie with the Barons coming back from a 5-2 deficit to earn the draw. Owen Lamb had two goals in the game; Quinton Cubbon's goal with 1:06 left in the third period earned the draw for the Barons.
The Barons were back home at the Civic Centre Sunday against North East, and it was again a come-from-behind effort as North East held a 4-3 lead.
But goals from Kevin Bendall and the winner by Keegan Tiringer, his second of the game, allowed the Barons to earn the 5-4 win and move ahead of North East in the overall standings. Jayden Nachtegaele scored twice in the win for the Barons.
The next action for the midget AA Barons is Sunday against Warman at the Civic Centre. Afterwards, the team heads on the road for games the following Tuesday in Unity and Thursday in Beardy's, before returning home Nov. 22 against Prince Albert.
