The Battlefords Midget Barons season is well under way, as they are six games into the season.
The Barons played twice at home on the weekend and fell 7-3 and 8-3, despite some impressive goaltending efforts.
Sunday the Barons hosted Warman and led 1-0, but that was the only lead they would have all game.
Defenceman Johnathan Shyrkaruk scored on a point shot while Jordan Carriere and Brendon Alm had the other goals Sunday.
Derek Sutherland was in net for the Barons and was busy, but had trouble with Warman's Landon Volk in the third period, as he scored a hat trick to seal the 7-3 victory.
Friday, the Barons hosted the Prince Albert Raiders and trail just 1-0 after the first, but a parade of penalties got them in trouble. The Raiders went on to score three goals in the second and four in the third on Tyler Cockburn.
Jaroah Sasakamoose, Haedyn Wuttunee and Bryadon Chalifour were the goal scorers for the Barons in the loss.
The Barons fell to 0-5-1 on the season will be back in action with home games Saturday and Sunday against Watson and Meadow Lake.
In the peewee division, they picked up two road wins on the weekend. Saturday in Melfort Rhett Taggert scored twice while Cole Brochu, Ty Mosimann and Cody Kalyn added singles in the 5-2 win. Roddy Ross earned the win in net for the Barons.
Sunday in Tisdale, the barons scored nine times, as Nicholas Miller was in net for the 9-3 win. Brochu had a hat trick in Tisdale while Blake Oborowksy scored twice, Spencer Wasmuth, Taggert, Paul Cubbon and Kody Wolff scored single markers.
The Barons improved to 3-4-0 on the season and will be in action Saturday at home against Melfort.
