The Battle River Archers packed their bows, arrows and supplies, as many members of the local club participated near Vernon, B.C. in the 2012 Canadian 3D Archery Championship.
Not only were the Battle River Archers well represented with 15 from the local club competing, they also had five medalists in the field.
Ashley Hepp competed in the female peewee division and, with a score of 669, she earned a silver medal. In the same division, Caybre Stynsky finished third with a mark of 625.
In the cadet compound division, Tyson Mackrell scored 757 and was two points back of second place while earning a bronze medal.
With a score of 615, Tawnie Kotyk earned the bronze medal in the cub compound 13-14 division.
In the pre-cub compound division, Spencer Hepp earned bronze with a mark of 759.
Shayln Fedler was seventh in the female cadet compound 15-17 division.
In the female bowhunter division, Raquel Hepp was eighth of 16 competitors.
Carter Buglas and Jacob Synsky participated in the cub compound division.
Keenan Buglas competed in the cadet compound division, which featured 19 archers.
Larry Mackrell was in the middle of the bowhunter open category, which had 48 competitors. Other locals in the division included Carey Hepp and Rodney Fedler.
Battle River Archers' Vic Stynsky competed in the hunter division.
Ross MacAngus finished fifth in the master 50 division.
Wilkie's Brian Hawkins scored 758, four points out of third place, five out of second and seven out of first, in the bowhunter release category.
The 3D Championship ended Monday and from there several archers will move to Victoria to compete in the 2012 Canadian Outdoor Target Championships, which started Wednesday and will be completed Sunday.
