Battle West District athletes to compete at track provincials

The Battle West District is sending more than 90 student athletes to the track and field provincial championships Friday and Saturday in Moose Jaw. They will compete in a combined 160 events over the two-day meet.

1A


In the 1A grouping, 45 athletes from eight schools will be representing the Battle West District.


From Cut Knife High School, Keri Rak will compete in the junior girls' discus throw. Jayden Waldner is set to race in the senior girls' 80M hurdles.


Hafford Central School is sending nine athletes to provincials. Cole Fendelet is participating in the junior boys' javelin throw. Joel Grybowski qualified for the midget boys' 100M hurdles, long jump, triple jump and javelin throw. Megan Jones will run the senior girls' 1500M. Ryan Krsacok is competing in the midget boys' 400M and 800M. Lucas LaFreneire will race the junior boys' 800M, 1500M and 3000M. Aiden Sitter is competing in the junior boys' 100M hurdles and high jump. Kalin Sitter will race the 80M hurdles.


Five athletes from Leoville Central School are heading to Moose Jaw. Matt Bonneau qualified for the senior boys' discus throw. Braydon Chalifour will race in the senior boys' 100M hurdles. Jordan Henri will compete in the senior boys' long jump, 100M and 200M. Tayler Paddison qualified for the midget boys' high jump, 400M and 800M. Lainee Zaparaniuk will participate in the midget girls' shot put.


From Luseland School, Lars Frenette is competing in the senior boys' high jump and Carlene Herle qualified for the junior girls' 200M.


Major School will have three representatives at provincials. Shane Bardick will throw in the junior boys' discus competition. Alyson Cook qualified for the junior girls' long jump, triple jump, 80M hurdles and 100M. Cassidy Zunti will run the 400M, 1500M and 3000M.


Maymont Central School is sending Autumn Amson and Jocelyn Bzdel to Moose Jaw to compete in the junior girls' discus throw and midget girls' javelin throw respectively.


There are 11 athletes from Medstead Central School heading to provincials. David Edwards is running in the junior boys' 100M. Brianna Hill qualified for the senior girls' 1500M and 3000M runs. Josh Hill will throw in the midget boys' discus competition. Beau Jesse qualified for the senior boys' javelin throw. Keysha Kohl will participate in the senior girls' high jump. Danielle Orange is throwing in the senior girls' discus and shot put. Ben Ramsay will participate in the junior boys' shot put. Steven Ramsay qualified for the high jump, long jump, triple jump and 100M hurdles. Karen Rosendahl is set to compete in the junior girls' shot put. Mackenzie Seidle qualified for the open girls' tetrathlon. Randi Siemens will throw in the midget girls' discus event.


Wilkie's McLurg High School is also sending 11 athletes to Moose Jaw. Rachel Cey will participate in the midget girls' 1500M and 3000M. Chelsea Gruber is competing in the open girls' tetrathlon. Jolene Gruber will be participating in the midget girls' long and triple jumps. Taylor Hoffman qualified for the senior girls' triple jump and 100M. Tristan Huber will be in the open boys' tetrathlon. Allison Karstens is set to compete in the junior girls' 3000M. Jess Karstens will participate in the senior girls' 3000M. Mark Karstens is competing in the senior boys' long and triple jumps. Rachel Mamer will throw in the senior girls' discus, shot put and javelin events. Jordyn Thomas qualified for the midget girls' high jump and discus throw. Cjardai Ulrich will be participating in the senior girls' 100M, 200M, long jump and triple jump.

Three schools are sending 17 athletes to Moose Jaw from the 2A division.


Macklin School will be represented by Spencer Bast in the senior boys' high jump and Madison Murrell in the senior girls' high jump.


Spiritwood Public High School is sending three athletes to provincials. Connor Deihl is running the senior boys' 100M hurdles, Colton Poulin is racing in the senior boys' 100M and Anthony Radke qualified for the senior boys' 3000M.


Twelve athletes will head to Moose Jaw from Unity Composite High School. Brandt Bertoria is set to compete in the junior boys' 100M and triple jump. Mackenzie Chorney will throw in the senior girls' javelin event. Sam David qualified for the midget girls' javelin throw. Terra Fedirko is participating in the junior girls' high jump. Brett Kuhn will throw in the junior boys' discus event. Emily Mabbett will compete in the junior girls' shot put and javelin throw. Alex Pernitsky is set to throw in the senior boys' shot put, javelin and discus events. Justin Rewerts will throw in the midget boys' shot put and discus competitions. Robyn Sperle qualified for the junior girls' javelin throw. Rhett Timmermans is participating in the junior boys' javelin throw. Kyla Van de Meutter is running the 200M, 400M and 800M.

John Paul II Collegiate and NBCHS are sending a combined 31 athletes to the provincial championships.


JPII has 18 representatives heading to provincials. Kevin Bendall qualified for the junior boys' 400M and 800M. Kiandra Bourelle will race in the junior girls' 200M. Kierra Bourelle will run in the junior girls' 100M. Brooklyn Cockburn is competing in the senior girls' long jump. Quinton Cubbon will run the senior boys' 100M. Troy Gerein is competing in the 200M and 400M. Narcisse Illunga Mbwebwe qualified for the midget boys' 200M and javelin throw. Jallisa Klippenstein is competing in the midget girls' 800M. Andrew Mahmood will race in the senior boys' 800M. David Mahmood qualified for the junior boys' long jump, 100M and 3000M. Ellyssa Nielson will race in the junior girls' 400M, 800M and 1500M. Kaitlyn Peterson qualified for the junior girls' 400M, 800M, 1500M and 3000M. Jordan Reed will participate in the midget girls' 80M hurdles and 100M. Brandon Ross is competing in the triple jump and 1500M. Jacob Stynsky will be competing in the midget boys' 100M and shot put. Shayle Thunder will run the junior boys' 200M. Traye Tkatchuk is set to compete in the senior boys' shot put. Ashley Wehrhahn is participating in the senior girls' 400M and 800M.


NBCHS is sending 11 athletes to Moose Jaw. Megan Atcheynum qualified for the junior girls' long, high and triple jump events. Drew Beavers will participate in the midget girls' long jump, 100M, 200M and 400M. Riley Boczulak is competing in the senior boys' 800M, 1500M and 3000M. Kody Grigor will be in the junior boys' long jump, high jump, triple jump and 400M. Owen Lamb qualified for the open boys' tetrathlon. Morgan Lamontagne is participating in the midget girls' shot put. Justice Laroque will run the midget boys' 100M and 200M. Alicia Pillar is participating in the midget girls' 800M. Cole Simon qualified for the junior boys' 1500M. Nahoni Tootoosis is competing in the midget girls' high jump, triple jump and 200M. Brantley Wasmuth is competing in the 1500M.


The 90 athletes qualified for the provincial championships after last week's Battle West District track meet held at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.
