There was representation from the Battlefords in a major judo competition held on weekend in Edmonton.
Gary Wright, of the Battleford Judo Club, placed seventh in the under 20 men's 66 kg category and the senior men novice category at the 2012 Edmonton International Championships.
Nearly 80 individuals competed from Saskatchewan, with participants placing from 12 judo clubs from across the province.
The competition proved stiff in the various weight categories, with over 600 entries entered in the event over the weekend.
