Here are scores from around the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League this past week:
In a matchup of the first-place and third-place teams in the league, the Lloydminster Twins beat the North Battleford Beavers 3-1 at Beaver Lions Stadium Thursday.
The win moved the Twins to 9-0 on the season and dropped the Beavers to 6-3.
Other action that night saw the other Battlefords club have better luck against another Lloydminster opponent. The Battlefords Trappers beat the Border City Blue Jays 3-2 in Lloydminster to get their second win of the season.
Other Thursday games saw Unity beat Standard Hill 7-3 and Macklin lose to St. Walburg 6-3.
Friday action saw Wilkie beat St. Walburg 6 to 3 while Standard Hill beat Edam 16 to 5.
Sunday the Lloydminster Twins hosted two games: they beat Edam 10 to 4 in the first game and then beat Meadow Lake 7-4 in the second game, a matchup between the two teams at the top of the NSRBL standings.
Monday saw North Battleford beat Mervin 3-2 on the road, Wilkie beat Edam 6-4, and St. Walburg lost at Border City 7-2.
Tuesday action saw Unity win at home over Macklin 9-6, and St. Walburg won at Meadow Lake 4-1.
There were four Wednesday contests scheduled: the Mervin Flyers at Border City Blue Jays, the Macklin Lakers at Standard Hill Lakers, as well as back-to-back games between Wilkie Brewers and the North Battleford Beavers.
Standings going into Wednesday night saw the Lloydminster Twins continue to hold onto top spot in the league with an 11-0 record. Meadow Lake had a record of 8-4 while the Beavers were at 7-3.
The Battlefords Trappers are currently tied with Edam at the bottom of the NSRBL standings at 2-9.
