It was a nice mild February day for the New Horizons weekly draw.

The three games played in the morning saw one that was a most unusual, played between Dick Horell and Ed Kjargaard. Kjargaard started off with four points, but that was matched in the second end. Then Horell stole four.Kjargaard didn't like that and went on to score in the next four ends and was up two coming home. With one rock to come he was almost sure of a win with him having a counter close to the pin and well guarded.Horell called the final shot and made it; wicking off a rock in the six-foot, taking out Kjargaard's shot rock, and laying four.Taking the bows with Horell were Art Strueby, George Pipp and John Chomyn. Not often you win by scoring on three ends.

The other two games in the morning draw saw the Krismer rink make a fast work of the Wally Gordey team and Ralph Hall scoring lots of ones to down the Forester rink.

In the afternoon, on sheet three Gorden Hagen had no trouble against Allan Rogers, as they didn't mark the final three ends. In the next sheet Wayne Lambie was up five after five, but he had to make a last rock draw to the button to ensure the win over Dick Wisner.

Ken Sayers skipped the Peter Pauls rink to an easy win, they were five up coming home.

On the next sheet we saw nothing but ones for the first seven ends. Eugene Korpach kept his winning ways even though he gave up three on the final end to Alexander Scott.
