After his team has started the season 1-4, no one can accuse Kevin Hasselberg, general manager and coach of the Battlefords North Stars, of standing pat.
The team made two more trades Thursday, just days after trading the captain of their 2012-13 team Robbie Newton.
In two separate transactions Thursday, the North Stars traded away forward Josh Betinol to the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League and acquired Taylor Reich from the Estevan Bruins. Betinol and Reich were each traded for future considerations.
Reich had 43 points in his 93 games with the Bruins. The 20-year-old centre stands five feet, 11 inches tall and will wear number 23 with the North Stars. He is expected to play over the weekend in Yorkton and Melville.
Betinol was both the North Stars' playoff MVP and rookie of the year last season. This year, he was held pointless in two games played.
