The Flin Flon Bombers hold onto top spot in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League standings, but are looking up at two teams in the Source Embroidery Power Rankings.

Not only are they the highest team in the standings, they are the highest ranked SJHL team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League's top 20 at fifth.

Yorkton is the only other SJHL team in the CJHL rankings coming in at 12th this week.

In the league rankings, Yorkton moved from third to first after winning seven in a row including a win over the Battlefords North Stars.

The Notre Dame Hounds dropped to the second spot while Flin Flon, Humboldt and Melville round out the top five.

The North Stars remain where they have been most of the season, in seventh place in the rankings.

Estevan took the biggest dive in the rankings, as they lost four in row and moved from eighth spot to 12th.

Listed in the Who's Hot players of the week, was North Stars goaltender Connor Creech. He helped the team reel off five straight wins before they lost two straight on the road.

Colby Daniels, a former Battlefords Midget Star, who is playing for the Kindersley Klippers also earned some recognition, as he had four goals and two assists in five games.

SJHL Players of the Week

Just three players received the weekly league praise this week in the SJHL. Branden Oleksyn of the La Ronge Ice Wolves was both the player of the week and rookie of the week after earning six goals in two games. He is the youngest player in the SJHL and leads his team in points with nine goals and 12 assists in 28 games.

The defenceman of the week is at the other end of the spectrum when it comes to junior hockey. Veteran Josh Roach of the Flin Flon Bombers had two goals and two assists in three games. Roach has seven goals and 24 assists in 28 games this season.

Melville Millionaire goalie Alex Wakaluk was named the goaltender of the week. During the week he posted one shutout and a 1.50 goals-against average.

The second set of players of the month were also announced recently.

The player of the month was Joey Davies of the Humboldt Broncos. He had 10 goals and nine assists in 10 games in November and won the player of the week award three times.

The goaltender of the month was Davies teammate Matt Hrynkiw. Perhaps the most underrated goalie in the league, Hrynkiw was 5-2 on the month and allowed just 10 goals in that time.

Notre Dame Hound Mitch Boucher earned the defenceman of the month award. He helped the Hounds to a 10-1-1 record in November and had 12 points in 12 games.

Another Notre Dame player earning monthly recognition is Sam Aulie. Aulie was named the rookie of the month. He had eight goals and eight assists in 12 games.
