As the weather changed the sports moved from outdoors to indoors and one of the busy places in the community is the North Battleford Bowlarena, whether for recreational or competitive bowling.
The local club runs five league's throughout the season and the top bowlers for the month of October earned some recognition.
In the Youth Bowling League at the bantam level, Victoria Koch and Liam Elias lead the way with 182 and 185 high single scores. Liam's high triple score is 396 while Victoria's mark for October was 364.
Ashely Taylor had a high single game score of 169 at the junior level while Travis Judd had a 158.
At the senior level, Renae Rentz had a 350 single high and an 838 high triple score. Taylon Elderkin's single mark was 246 and the high triple score for Taylon was 553.
In the Club 55+ League, Mildred Whiteford and Floyd Desmarais lead the 9:30 a.m. group.
Eva Fennig and Jim McFarlane lead the Tuesday 1:15 p.m. group while Desmarais and Don Ulrich lead the Friday 1:15 p.m. group.
In the Tuesday Night Fun League, Denise Achtemichuk had a high single score of 231 and a high triple score of 589. In the same league, Taylor Trach has hit the 321 mark and has a high triple score of 835.
In the Wednesday League, Gisele Rentz had a single high score of 251 while Cameron Schmunk had a single high score of 320. Renae Rentz had the high triple scored of 648 while Taylor Trach had 748.
In the Ladies' League Thursdays, Dena Karp had a single high score of 261 and triple high score of 609. Elinor Leverton had a single high score of 247 and Barb Elder had a high triple score of 607.
