Broncos earn player of month honours

Two Humboldt Broncos earned honours from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for their performance on the ice in October. Forward Andrew Johnston, a new member of the Broncos this year, was named the SJHL Player of the Month.

Forward Andrew Johnston, a new member of the Broncos this year, was named the SJHL Player of the Month.
Johnston, 20, who hails from Beaver Creek, Saskatchewan, tore up the league with six goals and 19 assists in just 13 games during the month of October. He now enters November leading the SJHL in overall scoring with 34 points in 20 games.
Honorable mentions for this award went to one of Johnston's teammates - Robbie Ciolfi of the Broncos, as well as to Blake Tatchell, Battlefords; Riley Storzuk, Flin Flon; Jesse Ross, Weyburn, and Dylan Smith, Estevan.
Veteran Bronco Josh Roach was named the SJHL's Defenceman of the Month for October.
The 19-year-old Roach, who hails from Saskatoon, scored two goals and eight assists in 12 games in October. He has shrugged off an upper body injury and continues to log more and more minutes as the season progresses.
For the season, Roach is up to 12 points in 17 games.
Honorable mentions for this award went to Travis Sparrow, Battlefords; Matt Weisensel, La Ronge; Carter Struthers, Weyburn, and Tyson Newell, Melville.
