Is four wins in a row enough to call a streak?If so, the Broncos are on another one. The Humboldt Broncos Junior A hockey team met the Yorkton Terriers on home ice at the Elgar Petersen Arena on November 9, and added a fourth win to their most recent streak. Scoring started off early with a big goal by Cody Pongracz of the Broncos at 1:07 of the first period, assisted by Joey Davies. The Broncos added another point, this one by Neil Landry on the power play at 2:59 of the first. Pongracz and Logan Sproule got the assists. The Terriers got on the board with a point at 3:56 to bring the game within one, then tied things up with another goal at 16:45. The Broncos took back the lead with a goal by Davies just 52 seconds into the second period, on the power play, assisted by Pongracz and Cody Pettapiece. Matthew Audette of Humboldt added a fourth goal at 5:55 of the second, assisted by Jeffrey Ness, then Davies got another point at 10:26, again on the power play, assisted by David Stumborg and Sproule. With no answering goals from the Terriers, the Broncos went into the third period up 5-2.Pongracz added yet another power-play goal to Humboldt's total at 13:24 of the third to round out scoring. Davies and Sproule got the assists. Final score: 6-2 Broncos. Penalties were thick on the ground for the Terriers, and less so for the Broncos. Yorkton players recorded 10 penalties over three periods, all minor, while the Broncos had seven, again all minor. The Broncos were a lot better on the power play, however, going four for nine, while the Terriers were zero for six. Humboldt outshot Yorkton as well, 35 to 32.A total of 750 attended the game.
