The Broncos took on the Kindersley Klippers and the Battlefords North Stars on their western road trip October 16 and 17.In Kindersley, the Broncos dominated the Klippers, leaving with a 5-0 victory under their belts. Goaltender Luke Lee Knight got the shutout for the Broncos, stopping all 27 shots aimed at his net over the three periods. Bronco John Lawrence kicked off scoring at 7:54 of the first period, assisted by Neil Landry and Adam Antkowiak.Then Cody Pongracz made it a 2-0 game with a goal at 8:27 of the first, assisted by Ryan Aubertin and Kameren Ballas. There was no scoring in the third, though there were power-play opportunities on both sides. In the third, the Broncos came out flying, scoring three goals in the early, middle and late minutes of the game. Pongracz got the first, assisted by Cody Pettapiece and Joe Davies. Aubertin got the second on a power play, assisted by Ballas and Pongracz and Sproule got the third, assisted by Antkowiak. The Broncos were one for four on the power play, while the Klippers were zero for four. The next night, the Broncos were in North Battleford, where they found the competition a little stiffer. Humboldt scored first - Cody Pongracz got the opener for the Broncos at 10:44 of the first, assisted by Joey Davies and John Lawrence. But the Stars tied the game six seconds later with a point of their own. The Broncos pulled ahead again midway through the second with a goal by Lawrence, assisted by Adam Antkowiak and Kameren Ballas. But a power-play goal and another one at even strength for the Stars put them a point ahead going into the third. The power play was the result of a serious penalty to Dylan Sakatch of the Broncos, who got two minutes and a 10-minute misconduct for hitting to the head at 14:06. The third period belonged to Humboldt. Ballas scored at 3:35 to tie the game at three, assisted by Logan Sproule and Brandon Tidy. Then 10 minutes later, they got their game winner on a power play, thanks to Davies, assisted by Ryan Aubertin and Pongracz.The Broncos were one for three on the power play, while the Stars were one for five. The Humboldt net was guarded well by veteran goaltender Matt Hrynkiw, who blocked 28 of the 31 shots levelled at his net. The Broncos made 30 shots on the Stars' net, guarded by Connor Creech.The Broncos' next action was at home on October 20, against the Klippers once again.
