Battlefords teams were in the heat of the action during the Conexus Provincial Volleyball Championships from Saskatoon April 26-28.
The teams competed in the 13U and 14U categories and had their share of success at the three-day tournament.
In the 13U Women category, the North Battleford Rage finished in seventh place in the final standings, well behind the winning Saskatoon Smash. They did, however, come up with a three-set victory over Ile-a-la-Crosse TNT Volleyball in the seventh place match.
In the 14U Women, in Tier 2, the Battlefords BVC Fusion captured the Tier 2 gold medal with a thrilling three set win over QCVC Black Krush to take home the title.
Prince Albert Optimist Toppers En Fuego took the Tier 1 gold medal over the first seed Regina QCVC Royal by scores of 27-29, 25-19, 15-12. Tier 3 was won by Warman VC while the Regina Volleyball Club Black took Tier 4.
Other action saw Prince Albert Smashing Bananas Gold take first in the 14U Men category, while Prince Albert NSVC Elite took the 16U. Weekend attendance was estimated at 2,000.
