Cardinals blank Flyers

The Unity Cardinals blanked the Mervin Flyers 5-0 in Unity, while the North Battleford Beavers lost a wild one to the Raiders in Kindersley 9-8 in North Saskatchewan River Baseball League Action.

Sunday night there was four games on tap; Kindersley visiting the Mid-West Expos for a 1 p.m. start, followed by a 4 p.m. first pitch with the Raiders travelling a little further to Lloydminster to take on the Midgets. The Midgets kicked off their double header with a game versus the Meadow Lake White Sox at 1 p.m. The Sox then moved a diamond over and play the Lloyd Twins at 4 p.m.

The NSRBL schedule is busy for fans this week, with three games played Monday night, four games Tuesday night and two more Wednesday before the Canada Day long weekend.

Monday, the Lloyd Juniors invaded Standard Hill to take on the Lakers, the Twins welcomed the St. Walburg Reds into the Border City, and the Expos visited the Beavers under the lights.

Tuesday had the Raiders roll into Brewer country, the Twins and Cardinals spar in Unity, the Flyers and St. Walburg play ball in Mervin, and it is a battle for city supremacy as the Juniors and Blue Jays take on each other.

Wednesday sees the Cardinals invade Laker country, and the Blue Jays of Border City visit the Expos.
