It was an amazing day for skiing.
The Carlton Trail Ski Club held its annual Valentine's Loppet at the Dixon Ski Trails on February 9.
"It was a great day out at Dixon (on Saturday) as the weather and trail conditions were fabulous for our annual Valentine's Loppet," said Brian Grest of the club.
There were 67 skiers at the event, including 27 club members and 40 non-members, who skied a total of 1,101 kilometres.
"A huge thanks to all these people for coming out to take part, socialize, eat, and support our club," said Grest.
He said if it wasn't for the help of members Brad and Wanda Lefebvre for running the event and Ed Brockmeyer for grooming the trails, along with all the other help from volunteers, the event would not have been the success it was.
During the event, the club presented Dan Mueller with his lifetime membership for all he has done for the club.
Not only does Mueller ski, he also has groomed the ski trails at the Humboldt Golf Club in Humboldt for a number of years, keeping them in good shape for the club.
The club is planning another ski day for February 18, called the Outdoor Family Fun Day at the Dixon Ski Trails.
"Everyone is welcome," said Grest.
