Coghill named NSRBL MVP

The voting is done and pitcher Jerad Coghill of the Border City Blue Jays has been named the 2017 NSRBL Most Valuable Player.

The announcement has been posted on the NSRBL’s website. In 2017, Coghill posted a 5-0 record with an ERA of 1.40, striking out 38 batters in 30 innings. His batting average was .414, with 12 hits in 30 plate appearances.

Finishing second in the league voting was Kyle Palmer of the North Battleford Beavers while Rhett Feser of the Unity Cardinals finished third in voting.

The league also extended congratulations to all the team MVPs that were named and they were as follows:

As for the league playoffs, the league was down to its final four teams this week. The Unity Cardinals beat the Standard Hill Lakers 4-3 in the first game of their series on Thursday. The other series features the Lloydminster Twins and the Border City Blue Jays.
