Contacts get revenge on Midget Stars

The Saskatoon Contacts were looking to avenge the last meeting between the themselves and the Battlefords Midget Stars.

Jan. 22 the last place Stars tied the first place Contacts 5-5.

Tuesday in Saskatoon, the Stars drew first blood against the Contacts, as Carter Danczak scored from Kihisi Derocher on the power play. That was all the offence the Stars could muster, as they allowed the next five goals and lost 5-1.

The Contacts answered with three goals late in the second period, including a goal with nine seconds left by Rhett Kehoe.

After an early power play goal for the Contacts' Dawson Leedahl in the third period, he added one more to close out the scoring. That was how the game ended.

Blair Mahon made 46 saves while Rylan Parenteau stopped 20 Stars' shots.

The Stars get another chance at the Contacts, but not before they face the Saskatoon Blazers Thursday at the Civic Centre.

The next action for the Stars in Wednesday at home to the Contacts, then they will end the season with home games against the Notre Dame Hounds Feb. 18 and 19.
