The result may have already been know heading into the John Paul II Crusaders second game of the season, as they took on Delisle, but how many people expected the game to end 74-0.

The week before, Delisle handed Unity a similar loss and Unity has been in the league for several years.

"Against a top football program like Delisle, the individual mistakes and missed assignments are magnified," said head coach Bruce Yockey.

Yockey admits playing Delisle quickly proves there are some elements of the Crusaders' game that aren't as good fundamentally as they thought, but they were watching game film this week and are working to find ways to improve.

Delisle started scoring points early, as the offence and special teams played extremely well. Delisle's punt returner took three punts back to the endzone and for the most part was untouched.

The game was an eye opener for Yockey and his staff, but he said the kids are still upbeat, despite some players being listed as doubtful for Friday's game due to minor injuries.

Friday, the Crusaders will be in Unity looking to score their first points, keep the game close and possibly earn their first win.

The Crusaders are 0-2 on the season and have two more games on the road before returning home Sept. 30 to play Unity once again.
