Some more good news came out last week in light of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash, as Broncos forward Kaleb Dahlgren announced his commitment to York University beginning in the fall.

“I have dreamed about and worked hard for this since I was 9 years old,” he wrote in an announcement on Twitter.

While the scholarship offer is set to begin this fall, the Lions have made the offer open ended, meaning should Dahlgren not be physically ready come September the offer will carry forward.

While Dahlgren noted he has plenty of internal motivation, the events of April 6, 2018 have given him a new level of motivation, saying he will carry those affected by the tragdy with him forever.

“I will honour their legacy in all I do as I carve my own path forward at York, on the ice and off, doing my best to always remain #humboldtstrong.”
