It was a light schedule for the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League last weekend.
Just two scores were recorded, as Paradise Hill and St. Walburg squared off Friday and Edam faced Maidstone Saturday.
In Maidstone, the defending league champions were beat 5-3 by the visiting 3 Stars. Former Spiritwood Timberwolf Bryce Gatzke scored twice for Edam while Brent Blais, Jordan Blaquiere and Brennan Weitzel each scored once in the win.
Quinton Gauthier earned the win while Dustin MacDonald suffered the loss after surrendering four goals, Gatzke's second goal was into an empty net.
Jared Rutley, Kent Sayers and Ben Schwartz were the Maidstone goal scorers.
The win moves Edam to 2-0-0 on the season.
The other game on the weekend had St. Walburg move to 2-0-0 on the season after they beat Paradise Hill 15-4. Trevor Bailey and Trent Campbell both had four goals for the Eagles while Jordan Fuder had three goals and four assists. Riley Brand, Tanner Husch, Randy Larre and Curtis Zerr also scored for the Eagles.
Bryan Bridges and Trevor Novak split time in St. Walburg's net.
Rylan Fisher and Walker Duriez also both had time between the pipes in the Paradise Hill net.
Chad Harland, Bryson Leganchuk, Airik Price and Jamie Sparkes scored for Paradise Hill.
The game featured 128 penalty minutes issued between the two teams.
This weekend five games are on the NSRHL schedule.
