In Sochi, Dutton competed in the 500 and 1000m speed skating competitions, finishing 14th and 26th, respectively. Prior to traveling to Sochi, Dutton told the Journal his goal was to make the podium. Though he didn't achieve that goal, Dutton, at 24, will more than likely have at least one more shot at the Olympics.

The story is a little different for the 33-year-old Rush, who, along with teammate Lascelles Brown, finished ninth in the two-man bobsled competition, 1.49 seconds behind the winners from Russia. It was a tough result for Rush, who is always a medal contender on the two-man circuit and won a silver medal in two-man at the 2012 World Championships.

Fortunately for Rush he has a chance for redemption in the four-man races, set for Feb. 22 and 23. Along with Brown, David Bissett and Neville Wright, Rush is part of a strong Canadian team that should have a legitimate chance at competing for a medal. It will likely be his last opportunity, as Rush has openly mused about retiring following the Sochi Games to spend more time with his young family.
