Eagles lead the NSRHL pack

The St. Walburg Eagles earned two more wins on the weekend and now hold a 10-1-0 record on the season and are positioned in first place in the standings. Friday, the Eagles beat Paradise Hill 5-4.

The St. Walburg Eagles earned two more wins on the weekend and now hold a 10-1-0 record on the season and are positioned in first place in the standings.

Friday, the Eagles beat Paradise Hill 5-4. Just three players on the Eagles recorded points, as Trevor Bailey had three goals and two assists and Trent Campbell and Curtis Zerr had a goal and three assists each.

Paradise Hill's goals came from Jamie Sparkes and Aaron Gervais who had two each.

St. Walburg's second win on the weekend also came against Paradise Hill, this time by an 8-4 score. Bailey and Campbell combined for 10 points while Taylor Thieseen had four points.

Meadow Lake also played twice on the weekend and split their games with a 12-2 loss to Wilkie Saturday and a 8-5 win over Edam Friday.

Wilkie's offence was lead by Rick Cey, Barrett Penner and David Schell. Cey had three goals and five assists while Penner had four goals and Schell have five assists. Of the 16 players dressed for Wilkie, 14 had at least one point on the night.

Ashton McIntyre and Ryan Corrigal scored for Meadow Lake.

A night earlier against Edam, McIntyre had three goals and an assist while DJ King had two goals and three assists and Corrigal had two goals and two assists. Jordon Oystrick had the other Stampeders' goal.

Edam had just nine players in the loss, as Brett Jullion, Ryan Roach and Mitch Wall all had multi-point games.

The other game on the schedule on the weekend was between Edam and Turtleford, but the score was not reported.

There is just one game let on the 2012 portion of the schedule, as Edam and Turtleford are scheduled to face off Friday.
