Experience pays off

It was a nice night for ball Wednesday, as the Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League was in full swing with three games at the Flats in Battleford and one played in Unity.

It was a nice night for ball Wednesday, as the Battlefords and District Ladies' Fastball League was in full swing with three games at the Flats in Battleford and one played in Unity.

In all four games it was the experienced teams earning wins over their opponents from the younger divisions.

The Northwest Junior Vipers beat the Battlefords Midget Bandits 10-0. Brittany Fedler was the starting pitcher for the Vipers and had four strikeouts in three innings. Christa Blaquiere pitched the final four innings and had three strikeouts as the two pitchers shutout the Midget Bandits.

Cherelle Cadrin led the offence with a home run and three singles while Dani Fedler had three singles.

Caitlyn Woloski pitched the complete game for the Midget Bandits.

The Battlefords Ladies Survivors played the Unity Bantams 1 and came away with the 14-4 victory. Moving the Survivors' record to 2-1 on the season.

The third game played in Battleford was between the Edam Ladies and Battlefords Bantams. Taisley Isaac pitched for the Bandits, as they fell 11-5 to Edam.

In Unity, the Midgets beat the Bantams 2 by a 10-3 mark. The Unity Midgets are a perfect 3-0 to start the season.

The ladies will be back on the diamonds Monday with three games scheduled at the Flats and one in Unity between the Bantams 1 and Edam Ladies.
