The top two teams in the Battlefords Senior Soccer Association's Men's League met in the final just the way the standings suggested it should be.

MNG tied the game late in regular time when Cam Foulds kicked in the tying marker. Neither team could score in extra time so the championship game went to penalty kicks, as the sun was setting in North Battleford Thursday at Centennial Track.

MNG scored four goals on four kicks during the penalty kicks while the Spurs scored three times on five kicks.

The celebration was on and the champions were awarded the trophy.

In the Women's League final, Sweet Kicks continued their impressive playoff run and earned the 4-1 win over the Benchwarmers in the earlier game Thursday.

The Benchwarmers and the Spurs didn't leave the soccer field empty handed, as they were presented with the trophies as top teams during the regular season.

Also Thursday, the leagues' top scorer awards were presented. The winner of the Female Golden Boot was Winddancer Jackson, who had 29 goals. The Men's Golden Boot was presented to Cody Kahpeaysewat who had 18 goals.
