Foam Lake team finished third at provincial badminton championships

The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHAA) provincial badminton championships were held in Warman on May 10.


The Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association (SHAA) provincial badminton championships were held in Warman on May 10. Here are the results for area teams and single players:

Mixed doubles: Ashley Blechinger and Remington Rohel of Annaheim finished in a tie for fourth in Pool B during round robin play. The team finished with a record of 1-2 and didn't advance beyond the round robin stage.

Boys doubles: Zachary Rohel and Louis Koyana of Annaheim finished 1-2 in round robin play and didn't advance beyond that stage.
Boys singles: Darian Sunshine of Wadena was the sole area representative in boys singles. Sunshine finished 1-2 in round robin play and didn't advance beyond that stage.

Girls doubles: Megan Farrell and Brooke Tkachyk of Foam Lake finished second in Pool A with a record of 2-1. After losing in the semi-final to a team from Leoville, they claimed third place in the province with a victory over a team from Oxbow.
Annaheim's Paige Johnson and Taylor Bley finished 0-3 in Pool B and didn't advance beyond the round robin stage.

Girls singles: No area students competed.
