The continuous work of recruiting hockey players in the off-season has paid off for two with local ties.
Jordan Hoffman, who captained the Kindersley Klippers before being traded to the Weyburn Red Wings in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, has committed to attend Concordia University College in Alberta.
Hoffman of Major, played with the Battlefords Midget Stars during the 2008-09 season and recorded 16 goals and 14 assists in 43 games. The previous season, Hoffman had six goals and six assists in his rookie campaign with the Stars.
A more recent member of the Stars, Garrett Zelinski, committed to the Flin Flon Bombers in mid-July. The Martensville defenceman had two goals and four assists in 30 games with the Stars last season and 11 assists in 44 games during the 2010-11 season.
