It was a beautiful day at the races.
The Carlton Trail Ski Club held the Cross Country Skiing Saskatchewan Cup on January 14 at the Humboldt Golf Club (HGC).
The club was forced to hold the event at HGC due to lack of snow around their clubhouse and trails at Dixon. The day after their meet, a snowstorm hit the Humboldt area, dropping between eight to 12 inches of snow.
Four members of the Carlton Trail Club participated in the event.
Geneva Grest won first place in the PeeWee Girls category, with a time of 6:25 and Christine Martinuk placed second in Junior Girls category with a time of 35:50.
Andrew Klassen and Mitchel Rohrke also competed in the PeeWee Boys category, but did not place. They finished with times of 6:34 and 5:11, respectively.
