Gudmandson named Kramer Division MVP

Battlefords North Stars goaltender Michael Gudmandson was named most valuable player in the Kramer Division Tuesday. Gudmandson, from Sherwood Park, Alta., joined the North Stars following their 4-12 start to the season.

Battlefords North Stars goaltender Michael Gudmandson was named most valuable player in the Kramer Division Tuesday.

Gudmandson, from Sherwood Park, Alta., joined the North Stars following their 4-12 start to the season. He had a 20-3-1 record with the North Stars to lead Battlefords to the Kramer Division title. Gudmandson finished the season with a 1.74 goals-against average and a 0.944 save percentage. He finished second in the SJHL in both categories.

The North Stars (36-17-0-3) finished second in the league with 75 points. They will play the higher seed of the Survivor Series winners.

The only goaltender with better statistics was named the Kramer Division's top goaltender. Ryland Pashovitz of the Humboldt Broncos was also named the division's rookie of the year. Pashovitz had a 18-6-3 record, with a 1.60 goals-against average and a 0.960 save percentage.

Notre Dame Hounds forward Sam Aulie was named the Kramer Division's player of the year. Aulie picked up 26 goals and 17 assists on the season. Logan Sproule of the Broncos was named the division's top defenceman. He led all defencemen with 12 goals.
