Battlefords North Stars goaltender Michael Gudmandson picked up two SJHL awards this week.
Gudmandson was named the SJHL's goaltender of the month for January. Over the course of the month, he won seven games, two of which were shutouts. Gudmandson had a goals-against average of 1.27 and a .960 save percentage.
Gudmandson was also named the goaltender of the week for the period ending Jan. 26. He stopped 65 of 66 shots over two games during the week, earning wins at home against Humboldt and on the road in Flin Flon.
It was the second time in January that Gudmandson was named player of the week and third time overall. Entering Friday's game against Nipawin, Gudmandson has a record of 15-2 with four shutouts. His goals-against average on the season is 1.52 and a .954 save percentage.
