The top ranked team in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League punched their ticket to the final four in dramatic fashion Friday.

Josh McDougall scored on the power play with one second left in overtime as the Nipawin Hawks picked up a 1-0 win over the Flin Flon Bombers at the Centennial Arena and earned a 4-1 quarter-final series win in the process.

Brendan Newton was stellar for the Bombers as he made 53 saves in his final junior contest, while Declan Hobbs turned aside all 33 shots he faced for the Hawks.

With the win, the Hawks have now made the semifinals in four straight playoffs, but they haven't made it to the league final since 2001.

Joining the Hawks in the final four are the Battlefords North Stars and the Estevan Bruins.

The last spot in the semifinal round could be decided Saturday in Melfort as the Humboldt Broncos will look to defeat the Mustangs in five games.
