The rosters have been submitted and the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League is underway for another season.

The defending champion Maidstone Jets weren't in action in the first week of games, as there were four games on the schedule. Of those four games three were played in Turtleford.

The Turtleford Tigers were on both ends of high scoring games Friday and Saturday. Friday, Turtleford hosted Paradise Hill and skated to the 16-6 win. Adam Schwark, Mitch Perkins and Darren Delainey led the Tigers' attack with six points each. Kris Bloom and Brett Medve had five points each and every Tiger listed on the roster except for three had at least a point.

Jesse Ehnisz of Unity, and former Melfort Mustang, was the winning goalie for the Tigers.

Paradise Hill's offence was led by Airik Price with three goal and an assist. Jamie Sparkes had two goals and Jamie Jeanotte had the other.

The next night it was hat tricks by Trevor Bailey and Jordan Fuder, which sparked the St. Walburg Eagles and helped them to a 9-1 win over Turtleford. Bryan Bridges earned the win for St. Walburg.

The other game scheduled in Turtleford was Wednesday night, as they hosted the Wilkie Outlaws, but no score was posted at press time.

Also Wednesday, the Edam 3 Stars hit the ice for the first time this season and needed some extra time to beat the Paradise Hill Hawks. Edam won 5-4, after the teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, 2-2 after the second and 4-4 after the third period.
