Hulks win thriller over Hawks

After 14 regular season games and semifinal wins, the top teams in the Under 10 Division, the Hulks and Hawks faced off for the Stanley Cup.

The coaches and players of the Under 10 Division Champion Hulks with the Stanley Cup Wednesday. The Hulks' roster includes: Jace Kramer, Zane Florence, Zaden Doke Poitras, Cory Wouters, Jordan Grill, Eric Brandle, Matthew Van Stone, Ethan Koliniak, Carson Marchewka, Reis Lang, Corey Koliniak, Dylan Friesen, Matthew Dament, Adam Van Stone, Nathan Ernst, Kaden Wappel and Phoenix LaRose.

After 14 regular season games and semifinal wins, the top teams in the Under 10 Division, the Hulks and Hawks faced off for the Stanley Cup.

The winner of the league championship would earn the 2? replica trophy and Wednesday night the two teams played what was the best game of the season. The fans were excited and into the game, which rallied the young hockey stars to give everything they had.

The Hulks went up 1-0 within the first minute of the game, but eventually they found themselves trailing 4-3 with less than two minutes remaining in the second period.

In the final minutes of the game, the Hulks scored to force overtime.

In the five-minute extra period, both teams had good scoring chance, but neither team could score and it was on to a shootout.

The Hulks' first two shooters scored while Zaden Doke Poitras stoned the Hawks' shooters and the game was over.

The gloves went flying off and the Hulks were presented with gold medals and the Stanley Cup while the silver medals were presented to the Hawks.

In the other U10 Division game Wednesday, the bronze medal went to the Wolverines, as they came from behind to beat the Icemen.

The 11 to 15 League bronze and championship games were played Thursday at the Civic Centre ending the 2012 season.
