They got a new goalie, and won their last two games of 2011.
The Humboldt Broncos travelled to Kindersley on December 20 to take on the Klippers.
With new goalie Colin Dzijacky in net, the Broncos stomped the Klippers 3-2.
The Broncos had acquired 1992-born Dzijacky from the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL, after trading them 1991-born Patrick Terriss from the Sherwood Park Crusaders, whom they had acquired and traded in the same day.
The first period of Dzijacky's first game passed without any scoring on either end of the ice.
Then Adam Antkowiak of the Broncos broke the ice with an unassisted goal at 3:17 of the period. His teammate John Lawrence followed up with a power play goal at 12:58 of the second, assisted by Robbie Ciolfi and Matt Glowa.
Kindersley finally got on the board with a goal at 16:17, and tied things up with another at 3:07 of the third.
Nearly 10 more minutes of play went by before the Broncos took back their lead. Glowa scored the last goal of the game on a power play at 12:21, assisted by Lawrence and Ciolfi.
Penalties were extremely light on the Broncos' side - just three throughout the game, including one in the first and two in the third.
The Klippers were called on things more often - they recorded seven penalties, all minor, over three periods.
Shots on goal were definitely lopsided - 42 for Humboldt, and 24 for Kindersley - as were power-play goals, with Humboldt going two for seven, and the Klippers failing to score during any of their three power plays.
Two Broncos were named among the game's stars - Dzijacky was named first star, and Ciolfi, the second.
The next night, the Broncos played in North Battleford, taking on the Battlefords North Stars, a team they had yet to beat this season.
However, this time, with Matt Hrynkiw guarding Humboldt's net, the Broncos came out on the high side of a 3-2 score.
Though the Stars started off scoring with a goal at 5:51 of the first, the Broncos took control of the second period, scoring twice on Stars goaltender Graham Hildebrand to take a 2-0 lead.
Humboldt's first goal came at 4:53 of the second, scored by Adam Antkowiak, assisted by Taylor Johnson.
Andrew Herle got Humboldt's go-ahead goal at 8:43, while the Broncos were shorthanded. Logan Sproule got the assist.
The Stars were able to tie the game with a power-play goal at 7:39 of the third period, but Bronco Josh Roach put his team ahead again with a power-play goal at 13:55, assisted by Sproule and Matt Glowa.
Penalties were extremely light in this battle - each team got just three, all minor. Both teams went one for three on the power play, and were very near each other in shots on goal - Humboldt had 37 over three periods, while the Stars had 31.
Two Broncos were named among the game's three stars - Sproule and Roach.
