As the individuals, teams, family and community are inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum it will be a special time for many to see their baseball heroes, teammates, friends and family honoured.
Making the event that much more special will be the guest speaker Bill Clark. Clark has been a baseball scout for 36 years and covers Saskatchewan and Canadian baseball. He has been involved with finding Canadian talent for 31 years and has served with Cincinnati, Atlanta, San Diego, Seattle and Milwaukee.
Clark developed a passion for baseball at a young age and had a dream to play in the majors. That dream ended when he was cut by the St. Louis Cardinals at a three-day tryout camp.
If you can't beat them you might as well join them. Clark went up to become a highly qualified umpire and scout.
In 2004 he return to work at the Columbia Daily tribune after finishing with major league baseball scouting duties. Clark has put his education, which he received at the University of Missouri School of Journalism to good work, as he has wrote over 1,300 columns since 2004.
He and his wife Dolores recently celebrated their 56 anniversary.
Clark has been inducted into weight lifting Hall of Fames both nationally and internationally, the Mideast Scouts Hall of Fame, the Columbia, MO Bowling Hall of Fame and local and state Officiating Hall of Fames.
He also loves the prairies, as he is a 40-year member of Nature Saskatchewan.
Clark held try outs camps across Saskatchewan for years and has helped sign nearly two dozen players to the big leagues.
