Jeans Beans win All Native Stanley Cup

A total of $30,000 in prizes was on the line as native hockey teams took to the ice in the Battlefords. Jeans Beans of North Battleford captured first place in the contact division, with a 5-1 over Onion Lake.

A total of $30,000 in prizes was on the line as native hockey teams took to the ice in the Battlefords.

Jeans Beans of North Battleford captured first place in the contact division, with a 5-1 over Onion Lake. Jeans Beans adds another title to their trophy case and earned the $12,000 first place prize.

Onion Lake won $9,000 for second.

Capturing third place and $6,000 was Red Pheasant and it fourth place was La Loche Friendship Centre taking home $3,000 in prize money.

The event also featured a legends' divisions of 11 teams and a ladies division of three teams.

Jackie Kennedy of the Battlefords Indian and Metis Friendship Centre said the event again was a big hit and went great.
