The Edam Royals hosted the junior boys NWSD district volleyball playoffs, Oct. 27. There were eight teams which qualified for the district playoffs after competing in their division playoffs. The teams were divided into two pools of four teams. Pool A was Edam, Beauval, Makwa and Hillmond. Pool B was Glaslyn, Loon Lake, Neilburg and Pine House.

The hometown Royals finished the round robin with a perfect 6-0 record to finish in first place heading into the playoffs. Makwa finished in second place. In Pool B, Pine House finished in first place and Loon Lake finished in second.

In the semifinals Edam defeated Loon Lake in two straight sets and Pine House defeated Makwa, setting up the two top teams for the final. Pine House had a very strong team but the Royals were able to finish them off in two straight sets to capture the gold medals and their second straight district championship.

This was the perfect end to a very successful season for the Royals as they also had tournament wins in Unity, Maidstone, Edam and Hillmond to go with the division championship they earned in Thunderchild. Congratulations on a terrific season, boys!
