Justin Wood ties for second at Sask. Amateur Men’s golf

It was a strong showing this past week for Unity’s Justin Wood at the 106th Access Communication Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Golf Championships at Deer Park Municipal Golf Club in Yorkton.

It was a strong showing this past week for Unity’s Justin Wood at the 106th Access Communication Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Golf Championships at Deer Park Municipal Golf Club in Yorkton.

Wood finished in a four-way tie for second at -1, one shot back of the winner, Tyler Wright of Regina’s Wascana Country Club.

Wood posted scores of 76, 70, 65 and then a final round four-over-par 76 for a total of 287, tied with Cory Selander of Prince Albert, Danny Klughart of Prince Albert, and Matt Procyshen of Saskatoon.

North Battleford golfer Kristian Houk was back in action again at the tournament, after coming off a 10th-place showing in the Jr. Men’s championship in Swift Current. But he failed to finish at the event at Deer Park.

Houk finished with a score of plus-26. He shot a round-one score of 77, a round-two score of 86 and a round-three score of 79 for an overall score of 242.
