Hockey season is quickly approaching once again and the ice will soon be in the Civic Centre in North Battleford for players and coaches to prepare for the up coming season.

The Saskatchewan Hockey Association's Skills of Gold Camp will once again be offered in North Battleford. The camp will run from Aug. 20 to 24 and is one of 16 camps offered around Saskatchewan.

The main focus of the camp is to enhance the fundamental skills of skating, passing, stick handling, checking and shooting as well as several off-ice activities while in a fun environment.

There will be 10 hours of one ice training offered at the North Battleford camp as well as 10 hours of off-ice training and team building. Groups will be divided by age and skill and the camp is open to any player from initiation to midget hockey.

The off-ice activities feature stick handling as well as soccer, lacrosse and football.

Along with the players preparing for the 2012-13 season coaches have the opportunity as well. The coach specialty clinic runs Aug. 19 and then the coaches will assist with the camp throughout the week.

Registration can be done at sha.sk.ca and question can be answered by Jason L'Heureux at [email protected].
