A birdie putt for the win, that is what it came down to for the Battlefords' Tim Acaster, as he drained his birdie putt on the 18th hole at the North Battleford Golf and Country Club on Sunday.
Acaster led the pack with a 69 on the first day and drained his putt for the win. Coben Colin shot 70 after the first round and had a birdie putt on 18 to force a tie, but missed and settled for second place.
Acaster 139 won the championship flight, which included 13 other golfers. Brett Harrison took third place honours while Dave Curniski and Cam Bergen rounded out the top five.
In the first flight of the gold division, Richard Heidt fired a 153, which put him tied for seventh in the overall weekend score to take top honours. Mo Al-Mahdawe was second in the first flight and Corey Bru was third.
Wendell Houk was first in the second flight with a 157. Khole Woolford was second with Rob Cook third.
In the third flight, Dave Wilson shot 156 to win the flight. Graham Campbell was second with Buck Yeomans third.
In the fourth and final flight of the gold division, Tory Granatier was first at 176. Will Rathje and Darrell Kopp tied for second.
There were a total of 65 golfers in the gold flight while 29 did battle in the blue flight.
Brian Lampitt won the championship flight in the blue division with two 76ss. Lloyd Hartl shot 79 and 74 for second place while Neil Lampitt shot 80 and 79 for third place.
Doc Ahmad won the blue division's first flight while Andy Friedrich was second and Brian Manula was third.
