Two of the eight teams in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League have hoisted the championship trophy and now the battle for the 2012-13 winner is set to begin.
The SPHL playoffs start Friday with all eight teams in action.
The Maymont Settlers edged out Cut Knife for top spot with a 14-3-0-0 record. Their 28 points matches them up against the 1-15-0-1 Perdue Pirates.
In three regular season games, Maymont outscored Perdue 36-7 and won all three games.
Kyle Litchenwald led the Settlers in points this season with 41 in 16 games while Clark McNulty was the top point-producing Pirate with 26 in 14 games.
The first three games of the best-of-five series are set up for Friday, Saturday and Tuesday starting in Maymont.
In the second versus seventh series, the 13-3-0-1 Cut Knife Colts will face the 3-14-0-0 Glaslyn North Stars.
In three regular season games, Cut Knife beat and outscored Glaslyn 29-7. Ashton Hewson led the Colts in points with 32 and was second in penalty minutes with 84 in 15 games.
The North Stars' leading scorer was Mathew Arsenault with 16 points in 12 games.
This series will start Friday in Cut Knife and go Saturday in Glaslyn and Tuesday back in Cut Knife.
In their first season in the league, the Spiritwood Timberwolves clinched the third spot with an 11-4-0-2 record. The Timberwolves will face the 7-10-0-0 Radisson Wheat Kings in the first round.
These two teams played just twice in the regular season. Spiritwood won 9-1 and 6-4.
Frankie Moosomin played just 13 games and led Radisson in points with 33 while Spiritwood's top scorer was Kyle Brataschuk with 49 points in 16 games.
The first three games of this season are set up for Friday in Spiritwood, Sunday in Radisson and Wednesday in Spiritwood.
In the final first round matchup, the Hafford Mustangs finished with a 10-6-0-1 record and two points in front of the 9-7-0-1 Battleford Beaver Blues.
Hafford was led by the league's leading scorer Kyle Rivett, who notched 57 points in 15 games.
Jordan Keller was a first year Beaver Blue and led the team with 28 points in 14 games.
These two teams played twice in the regular season and both teams won by a goal on the road. Hafford won 5-4 in December and on Friday, the last game of the regular season for these two teams, Battleford won 7-6.
The league's top goaltender was Dallas Sperle of Cut Knife with a 1.88 goals-against average and eight wins in eight games.
J.R. Bussiere was second with nine wins in 11 games and a 2.25 GAA.
