After 14 regular season games and six playoff games, no North Saskatchewan River Baseball Team could find a way to beat the Lloydminster Meridian Twins and they now have their second league title in as many years.
The Twins were in Wilkie Tuesday night for game two of the best-of-three series.
Kelly Hoffer hit a two-run home run in the first inning after a Gavin Andrews double and the Twins held that for two innings.
Wilkie eventually evened the score at 3-3, but the Twins' offence went on the attack once again.
A six-run inning was too much for Wilkie to overcome and the Twins earned the championship trophy once again.
Aaron Sittler was the losing pitcher, as he was replaced by Bye Braun on the mound
Wilkie scored three runs in the sixth and had two runners on base in the seventh, but couldn't convert and suffered the 9-6 loss.
Warren Stang was the winning pitcher while DJ File earned the save. Alejandro Garcia, who pitched in game one a day earlier, also pitched one inning.
The Twins capped off an incredible season with no losses, including playoff sweeps over Mervin, Meadow Lake and Wilkie.
