Three local volleyball teams from the Humboldt area showed their skill over the weekend.
Muenster School hosted the Junior B Boys Volleyball Districts on November 5.
"It was a four-team tournament," said Chad Hofmann, coach of the Muenster Cougars.
The day started out with a round robin that had the four teams - Muenster, St. Augustine, St. Dominic and Strasbourg - all facing each other.
"We went through the round robin undefeated - that gave us a buy to the final," said Luke Strueby, one of the St. Dominic coaches.
Muenster came in second in the round robin and St. Augustine third.
"We defeated St. Augustine in the semifinal in two sets," said Hofmann.
Muenster then went on to face St. Dominic in the final.
"They took us through three tough sets," said Strueby.
Although Muenster lost, the coaches for both teams were impressed with their performance.
"We did really well considering the team was all Grade 7 players," said Hofmann. "They were intimidated playing against Grade 8 players."
Strueby was glad to face Muenster in the final because they were a strong team that made his players work for the win.
"We had a strong team this year," said Strueby.
