The Saskatchewan Senior Men's and Women's Championship were underway this week in Melfort and several golfers from the Battlefords made the trip to compete in the tournament.
George MacGregor of North Battleford was the top local finishing +18 and in 15th place.
Brian Lampitt of Battleford was tied for 25th with a three-day total of +24. Herb Weinmeyer of North Battleford was +33 and tied for 35th. Battleford's Doug Harrison was +38 and tied for 40th. David George of Battleford was 49th with a +64 mark.
Colin Coben was the men's champion with a mark of eight strokes under par. Coben shot 66-69-73 to claim the title by nine strokes.
On the women's side Loriw Boyle of Moose jaw finished +22 and in first place.
