Locals finish high on downhill slopes

Dozens of skiers enjoyed the beautiful weather on the weekend and members of the Table Mountain Ski and Board Club competed in the final SaskTel Sask Cup series race of the season at Mission Ridge near Fort Qu'Appelle.

In the 17 and older ladies' division it was Sarah Jones who took top spot Friday and Saturday in the slalom races.

Zoe Shultz was also a two-time winner on the weekend, as she won the 13 to 14 ladies' division Saturday and was first in Sunday's dual slalom event as well. Zoe also finished second to teammate Sarah Loy during Friday's race. Sarah raced again Sunday and was second behind Zoe.

Nadine Fehr, raced all three days in the eight to 10 age division and was first Friday, second Saturday and first, again, Sunday. Amy Lacoursiere of Table Mountain placed second to Nadine Friday and Sunday and was first Saturday.

Seairra Steapleton, Shayna Fehr, Abbey Neufeld, Bailey Coulter, Mackenna Vany, Rowan Tkatchuk and Kathleen Abrahamson also represented the local club in the eight to 10 ladies' division.

Megan Jones was the lone Table Mountain racer to compete in the 15 to 16 ladies' division on the weekend.

On the men's side, Joshua Spanier was the veteran representing the team, as he competed in the 15 to 16 division. Joshua finished third Friday and first Saturday.

R.J. Cook was one of four 13 to 14 aged men skiers from Table Mountain and finished second in all three races he competed in. Ryan Abrahamson was first Saturday and third Friday. Taylor Mugrave was fourth Friday, sixth Saturday and third Sunday. Keifer Cosh also raced Friday and Saturday representing Table Mountain.

Teammates Devin McAllister and Louis Lacoursiere battled in the 11 to 12 men's division all weekend. Devin finished first Friday and Saturday and second Sunday. Louis was second the first two days and first after Sunday's dual slalom race. Elie Klassen, Liam Tkatchuk, Tyson Wawryk, Samuel Neufeld and Garrett Musgrave also raced in the men's 11 to 12 division.

In the eight to 10 division, Mitchell Harris, finished first twice and second once, while Connor Coulter was first once, second once and third once on the weekend. Bryce Beaman earned a second place finish as well as a fourth and fifth place finish. The other locals competing were Joshua Beaman, Matthew Spanier and Caleb Isbister.
