The final stage of the junior badminton season will be underway Friday in Wilkie. Regional playoffs will take place and to get there many Northwest schools were in Hafford for conference playoffs.

Marcus Tipewan was first in the boys' singles while Dexter Mercer of John Paul II was second.

Spiritwood also won the girls' singles, as Cheyenne Fineday took first place honours. Second went to Kelsey Gamble, also of Spiritwood.

The mixed doubles team of Jenny Markewich and Lucas Lafreniere of Hafford took first place but will be unable to attend regionals. Talyor Kuffert and Ryan Wirth of Spiritwood were second and Cassidy Stunsky and Brandon Ross from John Paul II were third.

Medstead's duo of Luke Anderson and Wyatt Moore was first in the boys' doubles event. Colton Poulin and Anthony Radke of Spiritwood were second.

Hayley Enns and Meghan Lybeck of Medstead were first in the girls' doubles event after beting Emily Fusnik and Shantaia Poulin of Spiritwood.
