George Kohlman's younger baseball years were spent playing ball for Palm country school near Primate.

At 15, he was asked to play senior ball with the Palm Flyers, later known as St. Anthony's.

Kohlman was the youngest of five brothers and in order for him to compete, his skill level had to be outstanding. His pitching arm was the key to his reputation being called upon many times to put out the proverbial fires.

His Christian upbringing helped earn the respect not only as a player and coach, but as a sportsman envied by many.

Kohlman remains involved with baseball today. He has been active in the twilite division for the past 33 years and also was coach of younger baseball teams.

When not playing or coaching baseball, he farms and is an active volunteer in the church.

Kohlman has been blessed with a wife and six sons who are also active in baseball.

He has been involved in baseball for 65 years, which alone deserves the honour of being inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.

Kohlman and his wife continue to live in Macklin and are anticipating his induction Saturday in Battleford.
