Battlefords North Stars left winger Jake McMillen has been named SJHL player of the week for the period ending Jan. 12.
In three games last week, McMillen scored four goals and added two assists. He kicked the week off with two goals in a 5-3 win Wednesday night in La Ronge. McMillen scored the game-winning goal in the North Stars' 3-2 win over La Ronge the next night. He also found the back of the net Saturday against the Yorkton Terriers.
The Carievale native has 13 goals and nine assists on the season.
McMillen and the North Stars' next game is Friday night against Notre Dame. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
