The Medstead senior boys' volleyball team had a great end to an amazing year. After winning the gold medal at the 1A provincial championship in Colonsay, the team was nominated for the sportsmanship banner from the SHSAA.
They were presented the banner Jan. 7, proving success and sportsmanship are not exclusive. This was a unique group that was able to continually exhibit the qualities necessary to represent themselves and their school in a positive way while still playing at a high level; this is often a difficult balance to maintain.
Congratulations to the players for playing the game the right way and making your coaches, school and community proud.
