It was a tough start to the Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association season for the Bruno Merchants as they dropped both of their week one contests.
Offense was a major concern for the Merchants as they failed to register a run in either contest, losing 7-0 in their season opener to the Saskatoon Poly Plus Angels in the early game on May 16, and 3-0 to the Delisle Diamond Dogs in the late game.
With the losses the Merchants open the season 0-2, and will be looking to pick up their first win of the season this week.
The Merchants enjoy a week break before returning to the diamond on May 23 for a doubleheader at Joe Gallagher Field in Saskatoon.
The Merchants will open up their May 23 doubleheader with a contest against the Poly Plus Angels, before wrapping up the evening with the late game against the Saskatoon WD Plastics Diamondbacks U23.
